This is it, the original 1965, 289 , v8 small block ,converted from 3 speed to 5 speed tranny, D8 mustang convertible. The pony was taken down to the bare bone and rebuilt with reinforcing the frame, new one-piece floor pan and many other extras. Newly rebuilt engine with less than 1000 miles on, rebuilt 5 speed tranny with proper bell housing (no conversion kit stuff) and clutch. New exhaust system throughout, all wheel disk brakes with steel breaded lines. All fuel lines are steel breaded. New gas tank, replacing many of the old electrical with 14-16 gauge wires. Oversize three row radiator with no overheating even in California weather. Staying with the original features as much as possible, including keeping the original 14” wheels. Trunk is rebuilt with 16 gauge-galvanized steel, never to rust again. Totally new suspension both front and rear with high strength rear main springs. New battery. New rear bumper. 1” lowered new front high strength springs. Rebuilt top control hydraulics. New 2 canister brake reservoirs, which works great even without power booster. All the gauges are original. The speedometer needle sometimes does not go to zero and may not be calibrated to true speed. All and all is a beautiful ride to enjoy with the top down.
