This 1973 Ford Mustang is for sale for $36,725 in Birmingham, Alabama. It has 59,579 miles with a Clear title and is Yellow with a Ginger interior.
For sale is this incredible fully loaded 1973 Mustang Convertible, with its' original 351 Cleveland
engine, automatic transmission, ice cold factory air conditioning, AM-FM
stereo radio, full console, tachometer, gauges, power steering, power
disc brakes, power top with glass rear window, and more. The original factory invoice sheet along with TWO original
build sheets go with the car to document its' list of factory options.
This car is from my personal collection. I have collected and restored only 1971 to 1973 Mustangs for the past 50 years, so I know these cars very well. I am not a dealer, just a lover of these big body Mustangs. I love the lines of these cars and the way they drive and handle. Buy direct and save the Barrett-Jackson type buyers fees and obligatory sales taxes at closing.
She was previously owned and restored by a former President
of the Mustang Club of America, so you know the car was done right,
using all correct fasteners and the best parts available. No attention
to detail was overlooked. Just look at the photos and you will see a lot
of work went into this car.
Open the hood and you will find the correct belts, hoses,
starter solenoid, voltage regulator, yellow top coil, air cleaner,
decals, and other authentic touches. Look under the car and you will
find concourse correct suspension components with correct factory paint
daubs, correct paint over spray patterns, and a detailed driveshaft with
the correct identifying paint stripes.
Open the trunk and you will find the correct splatter paint, a
new trunk mat, the correct scissors jack, lug wrench, spare tire, and
mounting hardware. This car even has a new top boot with its' original
born with top boot bag!
Open the door and you will find the correct date coded seat
belts, a flawless dash pad, beautiful factory steering wheel, and
flawless seat covers with the impossible to find original interwoven
comfort weave inserts that are no longer available. It's things like
these that lead me to believe that this is a true low mileage car with
actual mileage as shown on the speedometer.
The car has front and rear spoilers, as well as side stripes
and the "Tu-tone Hood," complete with a NASA style scooped hood painted
with the correct matte black finish and sporting functional hood locks.
It also has a dual exhaust system with the correct H pipe, mufflers, and
turn downs, a honeycomb rear panel, and an NOS pop open gas cap. The
factory copper color was changed to its' current (and more desirable)
color of Medium Bright Yellow.
The body on this car is absolutely flawless with no signs of
filler or rust repair anywhere on the vehicle. The quarter panels, trunk
floor, trunk drop offs, deck lid, doors, passenger floors, front
fenders, fender aprons, and front and rear valances are original to the
car with no signs of repair of any kind.
Even the tail light panel and battery box appear to be original.
You won't find reproduction metal anywhere on this car. As a matter of
fact, if you pull up the carpet you will see that the passenger floors
are still covered in factory paint that looks like it was applied
yesterday. Even the bright work, stainless trim, and chrome on the car
The paint has just been buffed to a mirror finish and the
carpet and underlayment were just replaced with the highest quality
materials available. The windshield is brand new and has the correct
"Carlite" logo. The Magnum 500 chrome wheels and center caps are brand
new as well.
All of the A/C components, including the condenser,
compressor, hoses, expansion valve, dryer, and fan motor, are brand new.
The A/C was converted over to R134 and blows ICE cold!
Other items that were just replaced include the dash lights,
the shifter bezel, and the door speakers. Everything on this car works
perfectly, including the horns, tachometer, gauges, turn signals, brake
lights, headlights, windshield wipers, heater, and cigarette lighter. Even the original clock was just professionally restored and works perfectly! The car starts right up, the motor doesn't smoke, and there are no leaks of any kind under the car.
This car looks, drives, runs, and performs perfectly. It is a
"no excuses" collector car that will surely continue to increase in
value as time goes by. Very, very, few of these 45 year old cars are
running around with all flawless original sheet metal and original "born
with" numbers matching drive-trains. These are some of the criteria
necessary for a car like this one to fall into the category of a "#1"
The cost of parts and labor for restoring these cars is sky
rocketing and you simply cannot take even a nice original car and
restore it to this level for the listed price. Do yourself a favor.
Don't waste your time buying a rust bucket loaded with bondo for a few
less dollars thinking you can restore it to this level for less money.
You will only end up throwing your money down a bottomless pit. Believe
me. I've been there many times! Feel free to call or text if you have
any other questions. Thanks! Kevin. 205-222-3646
